| Suffolk University Law School has been awarded a prestigious three-year, $300,000 grant from the Law School Admissions Council to conduct a pre-law summer program as part of the Discover Law.Org Prelaw Undergraduate Scholar (PLUS) Program. This exciting grant opportunity has been awarded to only nine law schools in the country. Suffolk is the only funded program in New England.
To begin this June, 2012, Suffolk’s Discover Law.org Program will offer twenty fully funded spots to promising freshman and sophomore students of diverse backgrounds who wish to explore the field of law as a possible career goal. The students will reside for a month in Suffolk University dorms near the Boston Common and take an exciting array of classes at the Law School.
The course menu will include dynamic and innovative offerings based on the Law School’s nationally-ranked programs in clinical education, legal writing, and moot court preparation. Students will also have the opportunity to engage with legal professionals, judges, state legislators, and others in a series of lectures and receptions designed to introduce the many career doors that a legal degree may open.
Suffolk is also partnering with other local non-profits, such as the Commonwealth Seminar, to introduce students to an array of Massachusetts policy matters and leaders.
