INTERNATIONAL LAW CONCENTRATION : SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM

Successful completion of the International Law Concentration requires that a student:

  • Complete a minimum of eighteen (18) credits in the approved International Law Concentration courses listed previously;

  • Attain upon graduation a minimum cumulative average of 3.25 in such International Law Concentration courses and not receive a grade of less than C in any such course;

  • Attain upon graduation a minimum cumulative average of 3.00 (B) for the entire J.D. program; and

  • Satisfy the International Law Concentration's writing requirement by successfully completing a Thesis or by meeting the Law School's Legal Writing Requirement in connection with a Concentration course.

None of these requirements may be waived for any International Law Concentration students.

As soon as a Concentration student has met these stated criteria, the student should complete and file a Notice of Concentration Completion form with the Registrar's office. This form lists all Concentration courses taken, the grades received, the course credits received for Concentration courses and the successful completion of the writing requirement. The Administrator of Concentrations or either Faculty Director of the International Law Concentration is available to meet with students to discuss whether they have completed all the International Law Concentration requirements.

Graduation Honors

International Law Concentration students who have met all the criteria noted above and have satisfied these requirements to the satisfaction of the Concentration Faculty Director will receive International Law Concentration Certificates in addition to their Law School diplomas. A similar notation indicating successful completion of the International Law Concentration will appear on such students' final Law School transcripts. Those students who have written a Thesis or who have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 in Concentration courses will receive the International Law Concentration Certificate with Distinction and have this so noted on their final Law School transcripts.
