In more prosperous times, Suffolk Technologies invested a fortune in patent filings throughout the world, signing bonuses for new employees, and an IPO. The upkeep on patent prosecution, a workforce, and securities compliance could kill this financially strapped company. How do we stop the bleeding without loosing all the company has built? The company needs to develop strategies for patent prosecution, reduction in force, potential bankruptcy, and potential merger or acquisition. Can Suffolk Technologies navigate through the problems without provoking a lawsuit? The issues facing this troubled company will be presented through a mock meeting of the Board of Directors. This format will allow you to observe the lawyers (the panelists) advise and resolve potential problems facing failing companies.
