Overview of Special Education

The use of special education entitlements in making delinquent children productive and accepted for juvenile court dispositions and special education services. How to determine if a child needs special education- questions that should be asked and how to involve parents. Ramifications of administrative hearings; Suspension and expulsion; Chapter 71, Section 37H and 37H 1/2.

Overview of Department of Youth Services

Different perspectives concerning the challenges of post-adjudication advocacy in the Juvenile Court, including representation at the Department of Youth Services Classification Panel, "conditional liberty hearings" and placement and extension hearings; How to get paid.

Tuition:  

Tuition is $20 for each course. Course materials and refreshments are included in the tuition charge. Costs for these courses are underwritten by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (8-5461-MA-JS).

Space is limited. Registrations at the door are welcome, but please register in advance to reserve a seat and your written materials.



Refunds:  

If you are unable to attend and you provide more than 24 hours notice, we will issue you a gift certificate for a future juvenile justice course.

Approved for CLE credit in RI, NH, VT and NY. Approved for 2.5 CPCS Mental Health Credits and 1 CAFL Credit.
