The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (“DRA”) is the most important change to Medicaid in 12 years. In the initial wake of the law, most programs were speculative in nature. By October, the law will have been in effect for nearly nine months. Some states will have regulations, others will not, and those that do will have significantly differing interpretations of the new law.
Attend this timely symposium and engage in a strategic discussion about how the “DRA” will affect day to day practice. Learn how each state has implemented DRA regulations, and get the inside track on what regulations are likely in states that, as of the time of this symposium do not have regulations (“non-implementing states”). Information about other states can be extremely valuable in this “Year of DRA 2005.” Those in non-implementing states can learn from implementing states so that they may be better able to influence the development of their state’s regulations. This discussion will be useful in developing ideas for litigation challenges to your own state’s interpretations or discovering hidden opportunities in your state’s regulations.
A panel of creative experts will lead a DRA 2005 strategy workshop in conjunction with audience participation. The panel will cover strategies that work, strategies that don’t, and strategies that should.
With increasing popularity, the Symposium series now reaches into nine northeast states: all of New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. This reach is especially valuable for attendees given that DRA 2005 is likely to receive significantly different interpretations by the several states.
