ABOUT THE PROGRAM The fast pace of economic and technology change requires that attorneys adapt and adopt the new technology to stay relevant in the new economy. Learn how to stay relevant by using the multitude of tools that make your practice more efficient and risk free and which already exist on the internet. This program will leave you with an understanding of what “cloud computing” and “SaaS” are, how you can use these tools to operate your office and reduce your risk. In addition, you will understand the most important ethical and practical issues that exist in using sites that transfer and store documents on the internet. In short, attend this program to learn:
- The meaning of “cloud computing”
- Which cloud based software allows you to practice without an office
- Practical concerns about using SaaS providers and how to respond
- Practical ethical concerns
- How to protect yourself from risk
This presentation is intended for both new and experienced attorneys who want to build a firm that is competitive today and into the future by using the right technology in their law office. The tools discussed are especially relevant to sole proprietors and small firms who do not have either the resources or time to carefully manage technology in-house, and wish to out-source the management of technology to a third-party.
PANELISTS RODNEY S. DOWELL, ESQ., is the Director of LOMAP. He is a frequent lecturer on law practice management issues, including presentations on law office technology, starting a new law office, improving client selection, terminating client relationships, law office finance, data security, and time management.
