About the Conference

E-Discovery continues to grow in technological and legal sophistication, presenting opportunities and challenges to both in-house and law firm attorneys. Hot Topics in E-Discovery is dedicated to advanced developments with a focus on practical, real-life solutions. The program will feature three panel discussions led by four National E-Discovery attorneys from AmLaw 100 firms, as well as state and federal judges recognized and respected for their proactive involvement in establishing E-Discovery protocols and procedures. The goal is to provide an environment in which attendees will gain insight on recent E Discovery developments by way of open panel discussions and mock exercises. There will be extensive opportunity for networking with panelists and sponsors both during and after the conference.

Attend and Learn:
  • The practical application of advanced technology for document review (“Technology Assisted Review”)

  • How to apply developments and analyze debates surrounding legal strategy in using Technology Assisted Review (for example, should we share “Seed Sets?”)

  • Appraising the myth that technology will replace lawyers

  • Differentiating concerns with social media and the law, covering nuances in the preservation, collection, and authentication of social media

  • Identifying privacy concerns with social media

  • Constructing appropriate parameters for company social medial policies

  • Interpreting developments in rulemaking with respect to “preservation”, both from the Federal court and Massachusetts state court points of view
