Issues of Law, Policy, and Ethics in Global Technology

2 credits day; 2 credits evening.
This seminar will present a broad overview of the impact of the new technologies on science, politics, medicine, communication, property and education from the different perspectives of the market, the professions, political interests and various philosophical and religious traditions. Particular issues considered include social justice and liberty, privacy and autonomy, international organization, culture and social change, and the meaning of nature and being human in a global, virtual, bio-engineered high-tech world.
Final grade is determined by class project and in-class presentation.
