Practice Before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

2 credits day; 2 credits evening.
The course will concentrate on patent application drafting, filing and prosecution including responses to various Office Actions and the filing of appeals with the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. Client intellectual property counseling and patent litigation as well as reexamination, reissue and interference practice, will also be discussed. Students will be required to draft a patent application and an appeal brief.
