Comparative Constitutional Law Seminar

This course covers topics and issues arising in the comparative study of constitutional systems. The topics will include several of the following: abortion and reproductive rights, problems of minorities (language, ethnic, racial and religious), federalism, gender equality and social welfare rights. In addition, fundamental questions about the study of constitutional law from a comparative perspective, the nature of constitutionalism in developed democracies versus nascent ones, the efficacy of different forms of judicial review, and the relationship between constitutional courts and politics will be discussed.
