Advanced Legal Writing: Appellate Advocacy
Prof. Julie Baker
3 credits day; 3 credits evening.

This is a 3-credit course focusing on persuasive writing and analysis. Students will begin by writing a short memorandum to review basic written legal analysis, citation, and research skills, and will then spend the balance of the course researching, writing, and rewriting an appellate brief in a federal case, using the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. A satisfactory grade on the final brief will satisfy the Legal Writing Requirement.




  Enrollment is limited: 16

  Elective Course

  May Fulfill Legal Writing Requirement

  Meets Advanced Legal Writing Standard

  Final Paper Required
