Intellectual property law deals with legal issues relating to products of the mind. Such products include literature, music, art, trademarks, inventions, manufacturing processes, and technological know-how. Intellectual property attorneys engage in a variety of tasks including obtaining legal protection for intellectual property, litigation to protect intellectual property assets, client counseling with regard to developing, protecting and utilizing intellectual property and licensing intellectual property.
