U.S. LAW AND LEGAL METHODS PROGRAM
The program in United States Law and Legal Methods is a one-week program offered from June 5 through June 10, 2005 in Lund, Sweden. It is designed specifically for lawyers, law graduates, and advanced and doctoral students who want an introduction to the American Legal System. This program is also appropriate as a base course for anyone who may eventually wish to participate in a U.S. LLM law program.
The course of study for the program will prepare the civil law lawyer with a basic understanding of the U.S. common law system and its unique form of analysis. There will be a special emphasis on doing business in a global market economy. It will enable the international law student/practitioner to more fully understand lawyering in the American legal system and/or be better prepared to advise their clients affected by U.S. law.
The program will be taught by tenured members of the Suffolk University Law School faculty and will result in the award of a Certificate in US Law and Legal Methods, presented by Suffolk University Law School to all who successfully complete the program.
Suffolk University Law School is the third largest law school in the U.S., approved by the American Bar Association, and a member of the Association of American Law Schools.
