Jay W. Fee


 S H O R T   B I O G R A P H Y

Jay Fee is Of Counsel to Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP working in its Boston office. He concentrates his practice on sports business law. He is Co-Chair of the firm's Sports Industry Law practice group that serves a variety of clients such as colleges and universities, corporations, professional sports franchises, league offices, facility owners/operators, developers, concessionaires, naming rights holders and sponsors, broadcast networks, media rights holders, and governmental entities such as sports and convention authorities.

Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, Mr. Fee began his career serving as an Undersecretary for Budget and Finance in the Massachusetts’ Governor’s Executive Office of Human Services. Mr. Fee later worked at another Boston firm where he negotiated large mitigation settlements with the Massachusetts and Federal Highway Administrations on behalf of two large Boston property owners impacted by the multi-billion dollar project known as he "Big Dig.”Mr. Fee served as Vice President at the sports agency, Woolf Associates, for seven years where he was head of the Agency's international hockey and golf divisions. He later founded Jay Fee Sports Group, LLC which presently represents professional hockey and baseball players. Mr. Fee has been a National Hockey League Players Association certified agent for seventeen years and has negotiated well over $250 million dollars in player contracts. He has also negotiated many marketing and endorsement agreements with companies such as PepsiCo, Nike, Southern Company, EMC, and Fleet Bank (now Bank of America).

Mr. Fee earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, (evening division), with honors, in 1986. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with honors, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1977.

For the past 17 years Mr. Fee has served on the Board of Directors of the Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care, a Boston based Foundation providing care and support to cancer patients and their families.
