ADJUNCT LAW FACULTY

Daniel Ahearn has been practicing disability, special education, and children's law for over twenty years. In addition to his adjunct faculty role at Suffolk, he works in the education field at the Landmark School in Beverly where he teaches, coaches and directs the school's Outreach Program.
Mr. Ahearn also teaches legal research and writing in the First Year Writing Program at Boston University School of Law and counsels law students in the Harvard Law School's Office of Public Interest Advising. In addition, he chairs the annual MCLE Special Education seminar and School Law Basics seminar, as well as serving on the faculty of the annual Advanced School Law Conference. Mr. Ahearn has written numerous articles on special education law for legal periodicals and educational journals. Prior to his current employment, he served as a Senior Attorney at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and as a Senior Attorney at the Disability Law Center in Boston. He is also the past director of the Bureau of Special Education Appeals in Massachusetts.
