Steve M. Weiner


 S H O R T   B I O G R A P H Y

Steve M. Weiner is currently a partner at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, where he chair's the firm's Health Care Section. As a practitioner, he provides a broad array of legal services for a wide variety of providers of health care services, with particular emphasis on developing and managing integrated delivery systems and risk bearing provider relationships; effecting mergers, acquisitions and strategic affiliations; establishing e-commerce and internet based affiliations among health care entities; providing representation in managed care receiverships; designing hospital/physician relationships; and counseling on the structuring of transactions to minimize fraud and abuse exposure. Mr. Weiner has served as the chairman of the Massachusetts Rate Setting Commission and as a special assistant to the Governor of Massachusetts for health policy. He has held various teaching posts at Boston University School of Law, Boston University Center for Law and Health Sciences and Yale Law School, has been a board member of numerous health-related organizations, including the Beth Israel Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, the Massachusetts AIDS Action Committee, and the Massachusetts Chapter of the HealthCare Financial Managers Association. Mr. Weiner is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School.
