| S H O R T B I O G R A P H Y |
Distinguished Visiting Professor Kirkpatrick taught Evidence during the Spring 2001 semester at Suffolk. Laird Kirkpatrick is the Dean and Hershner Professor of Jurisprudence at the University of Oregon School of Law. He previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, as a trial lawyer in private practice, as Executive Director of the Portland Legal Services Program, and as an instructor at the University of Michigan. He received the University of Oregon's Ersted Award for distinguished teaching.

Professional Activities:
Fellow of the American Bar Foundation; a delegate in the American Bar Association House of Delegates, and a member of the American Law Institute and the Board of Directors of the American Judicature Society. He served as chair of the Governor's Task Force on Corrections (1987-89) and as a member of the Oregon Criminal Justice Council, the State Sentencing Guidelines Board, and the Oregon Council on Court Procedures.
