Hon. Michael Bolden


 S H O R T   B I O G R A P H Y

Michael C. Bolden is the First Justice of the South Boston Division of the Boston Municipal Court. Prior to his appointment to the bench in 2005, he was the Commissioner of the Department Of Youth Services (DYS). From 1999 through 2002 he held several positions in the Executive Office of Public Safety, including Acting Secretary during September 11, 2001 and later, he was appointed by the Governor to head the anti-terrorism/domestic preparedness efforts for the Commonwealth. He has served as an Assistant United States Attorney (1990-1992) and as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex, Suffolk and Norfolk County.
