Books, Treatises, and Looseleaf
These are a collection of treatises, looseleaf, and books covering topics on health law. They are incredibly useful for getting a reputable account of the current state of the law and cover a wide variety of topics pertaining to health law. Some are available in hard copy and some are available as electronic resources.
Most of the books pertaining to health law can be found on the 5th floor of the Law Library in section KF3821. Here are a few important health law treatises:

- Jerry Menikoff, Law and Bioethics: An Introduction, KF3821.M46 2001

- Directed at readers who have little or no legal background. The book goes through several topics such as abortion, surrogacy, cloning, informed consent, malpractice, refusal of care, and organ transplantation distinguishing the legal issues from the ethical issues.
- Structured like a casebook, includes landmark cases in the field. Good for understanding core concepts.

Journals
Written by academics and students alike, journal articles discuss the most current issues of health law. The journals listed are not an exhaustive list of those available in the field but are those most often cited. It is helpful to review recent reputable journal articles to get a feel for what hot topics in the field are and where the articles look for their resources for each topic. Most law journals are located on the seventh floor of the law library although the most recent volume is kept at the reserve desk.

You will see many areas of law covered including "Health & Medicine." In this way, you can find primary and secondary resources devoted to health law.
