U.S. Supreme Court Bar Admissions Program: Monday, April 1, 2013

Suffolk University Law School sponsors a U.S. Supreme Court Bar group admission and swearing-in ceremony for its alumni every two years. The deadline to submit applications for this year is Friday, February 1, 2013.

2011 Supreme Court Swearing In

Applications must be submitted directly to the Alumni Office. Space is limited to 50 alumni; applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the Court guarantees one guest into the courtroom during the ceremony.

To be eligible for United States Supreme Court Bar membership, alumni must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a member in good standing of the highest court of your jurisdiction for the past three years
  • Present a certificate of good standing from that court
  • Be sponsored by two current members of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar
  • Pay the $200 fee
  • Complete the Application for Admission to Practice form

If you need assistance identifying sponsors, please contact us, we will be able to assist you.

Traditionally we invite the candidates for admission and their guests to a welcome reception the evening prior to the ceremony, a breakfast on the morning of the swearing-in ceremony, and a celebratory gathering following the ceremony. More detailed information will be available soon.

For complete admission information and forms, visit the U.S. Supreme Court Bar Admission website.
