EMPLOYER SERVICES

Information about our excellent students and law school programs is available in our employer brochure.

On-Campus Interview Program

Fall on-campus interviews will be scheduled from August 14, 2013 through November 15, 2013 and are held in conference rooms and offices within the Law School at no charge to employers. Reservations for on-campus interview dates will be taken as received by either phone, email, fax, or mail.  You may specify a preference to interview students graduating in 2014 and/or 2015. If you have other specific requirements, we will do our best to accommodate them. We will forward student resumes to you approximately two weeks prior to your interview date to allow for prescreening. We can coordinate your visit to Suffolk with your visits to other Boston-area law schools. At your request, we will also schedule on-campus interviews here for students you wish to see from other local law schools.

To complete your on-campus registration we require a completed 2013-2014 Recruiting Registration Form (you may also register on the Suffolk Symplicity site) and a signed copy of our Non-Discrimination Policy, as well as any other informational materials you wish to provide.

Other Recruitment Programs

The Massachusetts Law School Consortium sponsors the National Recruitment Program and the New Hampshire Job Fair in Boston in the fall. Interviews are held at Suffolk and Harvard Law Schools, as well as at Boston-area hotels. In addition, the Consortium holds two Government and Public Interest Recruitment Programs--one on October 21 and 22, 2013 at Boston College Law School and one in January 2014 (dates tba) at Suffolk University Law School. For more information on these programs, please contact the Office of Professional and Career Development at 617-573-8148.

Suffolk University Law School and the Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association are sponsoring the second annual New England Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Career Fair on April 4, 2013 at Suffolk University Law School. This career fair will afford employers a targeted opportunity to interview well-qualified LGBTQ students from New England-area law schools.  Whether you are looking to hire for summer or permanent positions, or simply conducting informational interviews to promote your organization, we hope this career fair will enhance your ability to attract excellent, diverse candidates.  The program will include a panel discussion and networking reception. First Year Students

We adhere to the NALP guidelines for counseling first year students in their job search.  As stated in Part V - D (General Standards For the Timing of Offers and Decisions) of NALP's Principles and Standards for Law Placement and Recruitment Activities:

1.  Law schools should not offer career services to first-semester first year law students prior to November 1 except in the case of part-time students who may be given assistance in seeking positions during the school term.

2.  Prospective employers and first year law students should not initiate contact with one another and employers should not interview or make offers to first year students before December 1.

Legal Education and Practice Partnership (LEAPP)

The Suffolk Law Legal Practice Skills Program has joined forces with the Office of Professional and Career Development to form the Legal Education and Practice Partnership (LEAPP), a program designed to bring Suffolk Law faculty and administrators together with legal professionals to discuss ways to improve educational and practice preparation for students and increase communication and cooperation between the Law School and the practicing bar.

LEAPP is the brainchild of Professor of Legal Writing and Director of the Legal Practice Skills Program, Kathleen Elliott Vinson; Assistant Professor of Legal Writing Gabe Teninbaum; and Director of Employer Relations Betsy Armour.

More information is available on the LEAPP web page or please contact Betsy Armour at earmour@suffolk.edu.
