PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PROCESSING TIME FOR THIS REQUEST IS ONE WEEK

This form may be used:
  • to request a letter of good standing for transfer applications
  • to request a letter of good standing for a job or internship
  • to request post-dismissal or post-withdrawal letters of standing

This form may NOT be used for:
  • student practice (Rule 3:03 or out of state practice)
  • visiting another law school
  • study abroad program
  • bar certification(please contact the Registrar's Office for this request)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Any letter requests for transfer purposes made after April 1st will be held until all final grades are released in mid-June. This letter is for the purpose of certifying good standing only and will not include GPA or class rank. Please order an official transcript from the Registrar's Office if GPA and class rank are needed.

Please indicate whether the letter of good standing can be emailed to the recipient institution, which is our preferred method of delivery. If the letter can be sent electronically then please still provide the full mailing address for the letter heading, in addition to including the email address. If no address is provided, the letter cannot be processed.

If the letter is to be sent via regular post, then please be sure to follow up with the recipient institution, as it is your responsibility to ensure that the letter is received. You will receive a copy as well. Please send the recipient institution a copy from your records if they have not received a letter. Requesting another copy to be sent from the Dean of Students Office should only occur if another original is needed.
