| Summer Federal Loans |
| |
Students who are enrolled at least half-time
(3 credits) in summer school, a study abroad program, C.I.L.S. Summer
Internship, or another law school are eligible to apply for federal loans.
To apply, complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Summer
2009 Supplemental Financial Aid Application (available in January). Students can apply for summer loan funding at any time during their summer enrollment. However, in order to avoid the 25% deposit for summer Boston registration or to ensure funding is received prior to your program departure date, all forms should be completed and submitted by March 6, 2009. For detailed information on the financial aid application process, please visit our Applying for Aid page. |
| |
| Summer Federal Work Study |
| |
Students can
also apply for Federal Work Study during the summer. For more information
on the program, see Student Employment.
Federal Work Study funds are awarded based on need. Summer earnings
are considered a part of the student's financial aid award for the
upcoming year; thus, loan eligibility may be reduced. Students are
encouraged to apply early, as funds are limited and awarded on a
first-come, first-served basis.
To apply, complete the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Summer
2009 Work Study Request Form (available in January). To be considered for Federal Work Study,
all forms should be received in the Office of Financial Aid by March
6, 2009. For detailed information on the financial aid application process, please visit our Applying for Aid page. |

| Suffolk Public Interest
Law Group (SPILG) |
| |
SPILG is a student organization that supports the Summer Public
Service Fellowship Program. Many public service employers cannot
afford to pay for legal summer interns. When used in conjunction
with Summer Federal Work Study awards, SPILG grants allow students
to work full-time in a paid legal internship with a public interest,
non-profit, or government agency that otherwise would be performed
on a volunteer basis. For more information on the SPILG Program
and how to apply, visit the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service. |
