| |
Why does CampusCruiser log me out without selecting
the log out button? |
| |
If your idle time in the CampusCruiser system exceeds
30 minutes, then you will be logged out automatically. Before continuing
to use your account, you will be prompted to log in again. For
security purpose, users who are idle for 27 minutes within CampusCruiser are
provided 3 minutes warning that their session will time out. Selecting "Yes" on
the warning message will extent the user's session for another
30 minutes. |
| |
After logging in, I see the MyCruiser page.
What is MyCruiser ? |
| |
MyCruiser is a feature of Campus Cruiser 3.3 that
acts as a short-cut portal. It contains quick links to all specific
modules that pertain to you. You'll receive notification of new
unread E-mail. Your classes, clubs, appointments and tasks for
the day are listed, as well as a mini-calendar of the current month
for your convenience. Information pertaining to your classes and
clubs can also be displayed in different column settings that you
specify. Clicking on any link or icon in MyCruiser will
bring you directly to the item's detailed information. MyCruiser is
also customizable; you can elect to have shortcuts to your modules
displayed in full detail, without detail, or remove the module
from the MyCruiser display entirely. MyCruiser is
accessible at all times by clicking on the MyCruiser icon,
located in the Global Bar. |
| |
Can I personalize my CampusCruiser page? |
| |
You can customize the MyCruiser section to your liking.
In MyCruiser, you can select which shortcuts to your personal features
are displayed, as well as the sequence in which they occur. |
| |
What do I do if I share a computer? |
| |
Please remember to log out and / or close the browser window
after you finish your Campus Cruiser session. This will prevent
other people from accessing your personal information. On the far
left in the black Global Bar at the top that spans the page, click
on the Log Out button. |

| Where is the User Directory, and what tasks can I perform with
it? |
| |
You can access your Campus Cruiser 's User Directory by clicking

the Directory Second-level Tab. When you access the directory,
you can search for members by one or more of the following methods:

| What are the differences among Clubs/Activities, Offices, and Committees? |
| |
The main difference among these groups is the members within
them and their roles within your campus community. Clubs/Activities
are intended for extracurricular or recreational groups; Offices
are intended for members of different offices in your campus; Committees
are intended for members who chair any committees in your campus
community. However, each of these groups have the same Campus Cruiser
features, which are specifically for use by the group's members:
- Calendars |
- Photo Albums |
- Message Board |
- Chat Room |
- Calendars |
- Address Book |
- To Do List |
- Shared Files |
- Shared Links |
|
| |
| What is the difference between "Joining" and "Subscribing"? |
| |
Certain groups and organizations in CampusCruiser will
allow non-members to either join the group, or subscribe to the
group. When you attempt to join a group, you are essentially asking
the host of the group if you can participate in the group with
full membership privileges. When you subscribe to a group, you
are allowed to view some information about the group, but do not
have full membership privileges. Subscribing to a group does not
require the group host's permission. You may subscribe to different
classes in CampusCruiser, but class members can only be
added by the instructor of the class, CampusCruiser Administrators,
or data feeds.
To join a Club in your campus, do the following:
- Click on the Campus Life First-Level Tab and
then the Clubs/Activities Second-Level Tab.
- Click on the "All Clubs" menu option from the left
to display a list of all Club categories.
- Click on any category to see a list of its subcategories and
Clubs. Clubs will be listed in a table.
- Click on any Club name from the table to access the Welcome
page of the Club.
- In the Welcome page of the Club, click on the Join
- club name - option. This will bring up
an online form which you can fill out and request enrollment
as a member.
- Fill out the form and click the Submit Request button
in the form. Your form will be sent to the Club Administrator,
who will then decide if you can join the Club.

| Hierarchies |
| |
| CampusCruiser employs an internal hierarchical structure
in order to better serve numerous campuses in your college / university.
For example, even if the Law campus and the University campus are
located in different cities than the main campus, CampusCruiser can
provide functionality at the higher institution-wide level to accommodate
all campuses. |
| |
Is my campus one of many in a hierarchy? |
| |
If your campus is one of many that uses Campus Cruiser in your
college / university, then the Global Bar will tell you. Locate
the Log In button in the Global Bar that runs
across the top of the page. If the name of your campus is preceded
by another name and a ">" symbol, such as below...
University Name > Your Specific Campus |
| |
| How do I view information about other campuses in my college
/ university? |
| |
- Locate the Log In button in the Global Bar
that runs across the top of the page.
- Next to the Log In button, click on the name
located to the left of the ">" symbol. You will
see a dialog to select other campuses in your institution.
- To view Suffolk University campuses go to Global bar and select
Suffolk University
- You can then use Campus Cruiser to view information about the
selected campus. Note that you will have restricted access to
information about the other campus.
|
| |
| Can I view more detailed information about other campuses? |
| |
If you do not have a Log in ID and Password to access another
campus's information through CampusCruiser, then you cannot
view that campus's detailed information. Your assigned Log in ID
and Password are to access information and features through CampusCruiser in
regards to only your campus. |
| |
| Why am I having trouble accessing Campus Cruiser from work? |
| |
This access method is designed to be used from home or school.
You may be able to access these databases from your workplace,
however, if your business office is BEHIND A FIREWALL, this access
method may not work. Our proxy server connects via port 80 which
is the standard port for web browsing. Please contact your business
information technology department for firewall information. Personal
firewall software and hardware (like wireless network boxes) with
built-in firewalls can also interfere with access from home. |
